It's the story of the Holocaust told from the perspective of two boys with two very different perspectives. I HIGHLY recommend this book... but not for students, unless there is an adult to discuss the topic (and ending) with them! Very powerful book!!!
What would happen, if you were adopted from Korea and grew up with super Italian parents, and then your teacher asked you to do a report on your heritage? Which one do you pick without offending someone somewhere? How would YOU handle it? I just picked this one up, because I loved the cover of it! The title got my attention because I know Kimchi is a type of Asian food, and Clamari is typically Italian, so I wondered how the two would be going together in this book. A sidenote- Rose Kent lives in Niskayuna, New York, right near Schenectady. She has written another book, Rocky Road, that takes place right in Schenectady! |
